Good day and welcome to this episode of the Books and Authors Fantasy Podcast. I’m your host, podcaster and author of Fun Fantasy Reads, Jamie Davis. This podcast is exactly what the title says it is, a show focused on everything in fantasy books.

This show will cover everything to do with fantasy books. From Epic Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Sword and Sorcery, and everything in between, expect to find the best and brightest authors from all the various corners of the fantasy book world. Plus we’ll add in a few other very special guests as well along the way.

As this episode is released, I’m off to Kansas City with my wife to attend the Independent Audiobook Awards there. I was honored to have my audiobook Accidental Thief, narrated by Roberto Scarlato, nominated for the GameLit category. I’m in some pretty august company there and I’m looking forward to meeting up with my fellow authors some amazing book narrators while I’m there. Win or lose, this trip is going to be a huge win for me.

I’m still also laser focused on the upcoming release of Cyber’s Escape, book 2 in the Sapiens Run Trilogy. I’ll be promoting the first book in the series over the coming weeks so keep an eye out for special offers associated with Cyber’s Change (book 1).

Also, if you like audiobooks, visit JamieDavisBooks.com/audiobook. You’ll find most of my audiobooks at a reduced price there because you’re buying direct from me. Check it out.

Today on the show, in honor of the audiobook awards tonight, I decided to bring you a chat with two of the best fantasy narrators out there. Anneliese Rennie is former NPR PBS FM radio host/announcer in a major media market. She has a background in opera and can present in English, Italian, German, French, Latin.

Roberto Scarlato is a Chicago native who worked a variety of odd jobs before someone told him to get into the voice narration game after hearing his rich baritone voice. Since then, he’s narrated books from a multitude of genres, including some amazing fantasy books.

Both Anneliese and Roberto are nominated for awards this year so let’s take a look at what it takes to narrate a good fantasy audiobook.
