Writing Short Fiction and Dark Fantasy Novels with Alan Baxter

This is the Books and Authors Fantasy Podcast Episode 56 with Alan Baxter.

Good day and welcome to this episode of the Books and Authors Fantasy Podcast. I’m your host, podcaster and author of Fun Fantasy Reads, Jamie Davis. This podcast is exactly what the title says it is, a show focused on everything in fantasy books.

This show will cover everything to do with fantasy books. From Epic Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Sword and Sorcery, and everything in between, expect to find the best and brightest authors from all the various corners of the fantasy book world. Plus we’ll add in a few other very special guests as well along the way.

In my author world this week, I’m gearing up for the launch of book 3 in the Broken Throne series. Queen of Avalon continues this urban fantasy tale in a world where magic is prohibited and gangster mages run charms past the cops and federal agents chasing them. I’m also deep into finishing up Cyber’s Underground, book 3 in the Sapiens Run trilogy. I hope to have that finished and off to the editor next week.

As always, if you’re interested in more information on what I’m up to, check out my fan group on Facebook, Jamie’s Fun Fantasy Readers and on my website and blog, JamieDavisBooks.com.

Coming up on this week’s interview is one I’ve been looking forward to. Alan Baxter is a multi-award-winning British-Australian author who writes supernatural thrillers, dark fantasy, and urban horror. He rides a motorcycle and loves his dogs. He also teaches Kung Fu. He lives among dairy paddocks on the beautiful south coast of NSW, Australia, with his wife, son, and two crazy hounds.

He is the author of the dark fantasy thriller trilogy, Bound, Obsidian and Abduction (The Alex Caine Series) and the dark supernatural duology, RealmShift and MageSign (The Balance 1 and 2). His latest novel is Devouring Dark, an urban horror thriller.

As well as novels, Alan has had around 80 short fiction publications in journals and anthologies in Australia, the US, the UK, France, Germany and Japan where he has won multiple awards and nominations.
