This is the Books and Authors Fantasy Podcast Episode 166 with Jacob Hess.

Good day and welcome to this episode of the Books and Authors Fantasy and Sci-Fi Podcast. I’m your host, podcaster and author of Fun Fantasy Reads, Jamie Davis. This podcast is exactly what the title says it is, a show focused on everything in fantasy books.

This show will cover everything to do with fantasy books. From Epic Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Sword and Sorcery, and everything in between, expect to find the best and brightest authors from all the various corners of the fantasy book world. Plus we’ll add in a few other very special guests as well along the way.

For my author update, The Paramedic’s Sorceress is off to the editor at last and I’m overjoyed with how the book turned out. I can’t wait to share it with you all. Make sure you’re caught up. Get the entire Extreme Medical Services series about paramedics for supernatural creatures and be ready to join the fun with the new book.

You can catch up with more information on what I’m up to, including some early looks at excerpts from the new book over in my Fun Fantasy Readers Facebook group. I post sneak peeks of upcoming covers, special giveaways, and more, by visiting my fan group on Facebook, Jamie’s Fun Fantasy Readers and over at my website and blog, I look forward to hearing from you.

On this episode, our special guest is author Jacob Hess. Jacob grew up in Oregon and became a Christian at a young age. God has continued to display His faithfulness to Jacob throughout his life; a journey deeper and deeper into grace. Jacob received a Master of Divinity from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon and moved to Seattle, Washington where he works as a minister in the local church.

Our stories inspire us, convict us, and encourage us as we struggle through a world not as it should be. This is what Jacob seeks for his stories to do. He wants to tell new stories built on the tried and true pillars of tales centuries old, stories that connect to our deepest longings and speak to our greatest fears.

Check out my interview with Jacob where we talk about his book, The Bright Abyss and how some stories lead back to one of the oldest stories ever told.
